Missing Child Murdered: Mother’s Boyfriend Jailed

Update: The Sacramento County Crime Lab has confirmed the identity of the deceased child found in Glenn County on May 28, 2015, to be Jadianna Larsen. 

Sacramento County Sheriff Detectives, volunteers and support agencies have been working an At-Risk Missing person case into the disappearance of 6-year old Jadianna Larsen, who was reportedly last seen on Thursday (May 28, 2015) at 11:00AM in her residence within the 3900 block of 47th Avenue in Sacramento.

 Jadianna was reported missing by her mother’s boyfriend (her caretaker) who has been identified as Juan Rivera, 25, of Sacramento.  Rivera provided an initial statement that he had been victim of a medical emergency and when he woke hours later, discovered Jadianna to be missing from the apartment.

Detectives believe Jadianna to no longer be missing and have suspended the search and rescue efforts, as the investigation has determined the body of a female child found deceased in Glenn County to be that of Jadianna Larsen.  Further confirmatory testing is ongoing by the Sacramento County Crime Lab.  

Detectives have sufficient evidence to support the charge of murder against Juan Rivera, who was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail early yesterday morning.  He is currently being held without the possibility of bail.

Though this is now considered to be two separate investigations in Jadianna’s disappearance and now a criminal investigation into the actions of Juan Rivera, we await official results and testing before further details can be provided.
