Placer County Sheriff’s search and rescue teams found the bodies of two missing all-terrain vehicle riders late Tuesday night in a remote area outside of Foresthill.

The bodies of Svetlana N. Koval, 23, and Vitaliy Kolyadich, 25, were located just before midnight Tuesday. Autopsies are scheduled for Thursday.

The pair was reported missing Monday to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department. The Placer County Sheriff’s Department joined the investigation when it was determined that the victims may have traveled to the Foresthill area to ride their ATV.

Kolyadich’s truck was located at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday by the California Highway Patrol airplane, off Mosquito Ridge Road at Interbay Road, a U.S. Forest Service roadway near French Meadows. Sheriff’s search teams, including motorcycles, 4-wheel drive vehicles and the Mountain Rescue Team responded and were able to locate the victims. The victims and the ATV were found down an embankment, the result of an apparent crash. CHP responded and conducted the accident investigation.

Koval’s address is listed in the city of Redlands in southern California, but her family resides in Roseville. Kolyadich lived in Carmichael.
