On February 5, 2009, while conducting a probation search in the 3000 block of Westwood Drive, Rocklin Police Officers discovered almost 2 ounces of methamphetamine and arrested the probationer.

Officers went to the residence to check the man and his living area which they are entitled to do as part of the subject’s probation conditions. The search paid off when officers found 2 ounces of methamphetamine hidden in a bathroom. Also found in the house was cash and other items indicative of drugs sales.

The drugs have an estimated street value of $5000.

Arrested was David Douglas Benson, 48 years, of Rocklin, for possession of methamphetamine, possession for sales of methamphetamine, and a probation violation. He was booked into Placer County Jail. His bail has been set at $35,000.

“Methamphetamine is a big problem and we are cognizant of it. The search and arrest today is part of our efforts to combat local drug sales and usage,” said Sergeant Forrest Richardson.
