Rocklin, Calif.- On April 12, 2007, at about 1:10 AM, Rocklin Police Department Officer Jason Westgae noticed three male subjects sleeping in a car that was parked in the lot at the AM/PM at 4500 Rocklin Rd.ย  As he contacted the occupants of the car, he smelled the strong odor of marijuana.

Officer Westgate called upon his K-9 partner, Diva, a black Lab, who is certified in the detection of the odors of narcotics and marijuana, to assist.ย  Diva responded at several different locations within the vehicle indicating the presence of narcotics or marijuana.

Officer Westgate located almost a pound of marijuana in the car.  Additionally, he found a mace, an illegal weapon to possess in California.

Arrested for illegal possession of marijuana was Justin Michael Ballard, 23 years, a transient out of North Dakota.  Arrested for illegal possession of marijuana and illegal weapons charges were Adam Kristofer Lemke, 25 years, of West Fargo, North Dakota, and Tyler John Ringdahl, 21 years, of Harwood, North Dakota.
