Updated: At 12:15 p.m. Saturday, January 15, Roseville Police and Fire personnel responded to a major injury traffic collision on Douglas Boulevard near Rocky Ridge Drive.ย  Officers determined that Cecil Alvin Feathers,ย  68, of Roseville was driving his 2010 Toyota four-door-sedan westbound on Douglas when he crossed over the median into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer sports-utility vehicle, driven by a 34-year-old Sacramento man.

Officers suspect that Mr. Feathers had some type of medical event that caused him to lose control of his vehicle. He was transported by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where he later died.  The other driver was also transported by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.  His three-year-old son, who was properly secured in a child-safety seat in the back seat when the crash occurred, was taken by ambulance to UC Davis Medical Center, the region’s pediatric trauma center, treated and released.
