Updated: Barricaded Subject found deceased, Gun Recovered

Rocklin, Calif.-At 4:17pm Rocklin Police Department received a 911 call about a potential domestic violence incident involving a man with a gun at a residence in the 1700 block of Piute Street.

According to witnesses, the male had pointed a handgun at a woman who fled the scene, while the male barricaded himself inside the residence still in possession of the handgun. The woman escaped unharmed.

Police units quickly arrived on-scene surrounding the house and established a perimeter. The Rocklin/Roseville Regional SWAT team was called to the scene, along with hostage negotiators who made numerous attempts to make contact with the armed male subject inside the residence.

After several hours of negotiators attempting contact without success, the SWAT team made entry and searched the home. Inside the home, a male believed to be in his 60’s was found dead. Police also located a handgun inside the residence.

Names of the decedent and the woman are not being released at this time. Inquiries about the decedents identity are being referred to the Placer County Coroner, who is working to conduct proper identification.
