Alcohol and medication intoxication

Loomis, Calif.- The Placer County Sheriff”s Department has received the autopsy results on a young woman who was found in a Loomis creek on August 26.

The manner of death in the case of Alyse Rachelle Conk, 21, has been ruled as accidental, due to drowning. The drowning was due to acute alcohol and over-the-counter medication intoxication.

Placer County Sheriff”s detectives conducted a thorough scene investigation and found no evidence that foul play was involved in the death. Evidence located at the scene suggested Conk was alone and sleeping in Loomis Park on a makeshift bed of blankets and a pillow alongside a shallow creek. She was located the following morning by a young male walking on a trail near the creek.

Detectives suspected drowning or intoxication played a role in her death but waited for the results of toxicology tests and a forensic autopsy conducted by the Placer County coroner”s office.
