Lincoln, Calif.- An anonymous tip to Placer County Crime Stoppers provided Placer County Sheriff’s detectivesย with leads that resulted in the arrest of two young Lincoln men for causing massive damage to ย the Manzanita Cemetery near Lincoln inย November.

Cody Lee Piland and Steven Robert Warn III, both 19, are cooperating with detectives in the crime spree that resulted in more than $100,000 in damages to the old cemetery. Some of the ย tombstones were more than 100 years old. An estimated 100 to 150 tombstones had been ย turned over, pulled out of the ground or broken into pieces

The vandalism occurred between Nov. 12 and Nov. 14, 2010.

Both suspects have been charged with felony vandalism and conspiracy. Piland was arrested ย Jan. 19 and was released Jan. 24 on bail of $50,000 and is on electronic monitoring. He is ย scheduled to appear in court Feb. 7, at 8:30 a.m. in the jail courtroom. Warn was arrested ย today and was booked at the Placer County Jail. Detectives asked for and were granted a bail ย enhancement for Warn. His bail is set at $50,000. The investigation is ongoing.
