Jorge Aguilar, 45, of Rocklin, has been appointed to the State Council on Developmental Disabilities. Since 1998, he has worked as vice president of transportation and engineering consultant services for URS Corporation.

From 1997 to 1998, Aguilar worked as a senior engineer and project manager for Psomas and, from 1990 to 1997, he was a civil engineer at Boyle Engineering in Sacramento. From 1988 to 1990, he was an assistant engineer for the California Department of Transportation.

 Additionally, Aguilar is involved in mentoring families with children affected by autism and is also involved in the group Families for Early Autism Treatment of the Sacramento region. He currently chairs the statewide liaison committee for California Department of Transportation, Consulting Engineers and Land Surveyors of California and served as past president of the California District of the American Society of Civil Engineers. 

This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem.
