Roseville, Calif. – April 4 at 11:54 a.m. The Roseville Fire Department responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 800 block of Main Street in downtown Roseville.

Upon arrival fire crews were confronted with a well involved kitchen fire which spread into the attic space of the single story craftsman style home.  Fire crews simultaneously cut ventilation holes in the roof to release toxic smoke and super-heated gases while aggressively attacking the fire from the interior. The occupants self evacuated the home at the time of the fire.

Five engines, two ladder trucks, and several chief officers responded to the scene. Crews quickly brought the fire under control in approximately 30 minutes. A total of twenty eight personnel responded to the scene. Assistance was also provided by American Medical Response and Roseville Police.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
