Former Roseville resident gets prison for child molestation

A former Roseville resident has been sentenced to five years and eight months in state prison after pleading guilty to six counts of child molestation involving teenage boys.

Michael David Harrison, 41, of North Highlands received the prison term Tuesday from Placer County Superior Court Judge Larry D. Gaddis. Harrison will also have to register as a sex offender and must pay $1,200 in restitution to a state fund, the judge ordered.

Deputy District Attorney Jeff Wood said the victims ranged in age from 14 to 16 years old and that the illegal acts occurred between September 2006 and March 2008.

Wood said Harrison worked at a video store in Roseville and met at least two of his four victims there, even using a storage room to engage in lewd and lascivious acts.

‘Some of the other acts occurred at his home and another in a vehicle,’ the prosecutor said.

Three of the victims eventually came forward and reported the activity, triggering an investigation by Roseville police that led to Harrison’s arrest, Wood said.
