FolsomÕs popular Friday night Concerts in the Park series return to City Lions Park this summer. The first concert, featuring Scott RodellÕs original pop and rock music, begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 15.
RodellÕs new CD, Days on End, reflects his roots growing up in a blue collar town with a history dating to the beginning of the Industrial Age in America. Rodell is skillful with multiple instruments including guitar, piano, fiddle, banjo and saxophone. Rodell now resides in Sacramento.
All concerts are free. Many of those who attend bring blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy a picnic dinner. City Lions Park is located at the intersection of Natoma and Stafford streets, adjacent to the Civic Center and the new Folsom Public Library.
Future concerts feature The Bayou Boys (Zydeco) on June 22, the Dave Russell Band (country) on June 19, Walking Spanish (contemporary rock) on July 6, Have Mercy (classic rock) on July 13, On Air (classic rock and power horns) on July 20, Dead Stetsons (country) on July 27, Azuar (best of 80s and 90s) on August 3, and Peter Morgan (jazz) on August 10.
