On November 18, 2007 at about 12:20 AM, Rocklin Police Officers responded to 4835 Pacific Street (Lorree’s Little Shack Bar) for a report of a bar fight.

The officers arrived and located Jered Ray Dewolf, 37 years old, Folsom, unconscious in the parking lot of the bar with what appeared to be major head injuries. Dewolf was transported to Sutter-Roseville Medical Center by ambulance were he went was admitted into the Critical Care Unit.

Based on witness statements and videotape evidence it was determined that James Manuel Hernandez , 26 years old, Fort Jones, CA was responsible for the injuries to Dewolf.

On November 19, 2007, Rocklin Police Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Hernandez. On November 20, 2007 at about 4:40 PM, Rocklin Police Detectives and the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department SWAT Team executed the warrant and took James Hernandez into custody in Fort Jones.

On November 20, 2007, Jered Dewolf died as a result of the injuries he received on November 18th.

James Hernandez was booked into the Placer County Jail on charges of Murder. Hernandez is being held without bail.

This is the first homicide in Rocklin since 2003.

“It is very unfortunate that a young man lost his life in a senseless bar fight,” said Chief of Police Mark Siemens. “It is also unfortunate that the victim and suspect chose to come to Rocklin. This kind of violence is uncommon to this City.”
