A 20-year-old Folsom man was arrested by the Placer County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday night for a series of pharmacy robberies.

Pierre Javon Williams entered the Walgreen’s Pharmacy at 1051 Douglas Blvd. in Granite Bay at noon on Tuesday, claiming to have a gun and demanding drugs. He was given hundreds of Oxycontin pills before he fled the store.

Because similar pharmacy robberies had occurred recently in Folsom, El Dorado Hills and Sacramento, a joint investigation was implemented by the Placer County Sheriff’s Department, Folsom Police Department and the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department. The investigation led to the identification and arrest of Williams in Folsom Wednesday night.

Williams was booked at the Placer County Jail on robbery charges. His bail is set at $75,000 and he is scheduled for arraignment Friday, March 21, at 1 p.m. in the jail courtroom.
