On February 14th 2008 approximately 1:15 P.M., the Folsom Police Department received a report of a hit and run vehicle vs. pedestrian collision that occurred in the 800 block of School Street.

Traffic Officers met with the 29 year old victim at an area hospital. She reported that she had been walking on School Street between Needles Way and Dean Way with her six year old daughter and a six year old friend of her daughters when a truck pulling a trailer drove by recklessly. One of the six year old girls yelled at the driver of the truck, telling him to slow down. The driver of the truck made a U-Turn and drove back towards the group, striking the 29 year old female with the truck’s right front fender.

Based on the alleged verbal exchange after the collision, the investigating officers believe the suspect intended to hit the victim and the case has been classified as a felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The driver fled the scene in the truck shortly after the collision.

The victim is a Folsom resident. She suffered a broken ankle and possibly a fractured hip. She did not know the suspect. The suspect was described as a thin, white male in his early 30’s with short dirty blond hair.

The vehicle was described as a newer, white, mid to full sized pick-up truck with a lumber rack. It was an extra cab but did not have rear doors. The rear windows were tinted. There were signs on both doors that included the word ‘SIDE’ and possibly ‘CONSTRUCTION’ and ‘DECK’. There was also a telephone number on the doors, possibly beginning with the numbers ‘983-0’. The signs on the truck’s door may have been magnetic. The truck was pulling a white enclosed trailer with no visible license plate.
