Elder Abuse and Burglary at Eskaton in Granite Bay suspected

Suspected of stealing cash and jewelry from dozens

Placer County Sheriff’s detectives arrested an employee at a senior residence in Granite Bay  at 2 p.m. today on charges of elder abuse and burglary.

Sasi L. Raj, 46, of Antelope, was taken into custody at Eskaton Lodge, Granite Bay,  where she is suspected of stealing cash and jewelry from dozens of the facility’s elderly  residents. Raj has been employed as a medical technician there since August, 2007.

This afternoon, detectives will search Raj’s Antelope home for jewelry taken from the elderly  victims.

A mug shot will not be available until later as Raj has not yet been transported to the Placer  County Jail.
