Rocklin, Calif.- The Jerry Manuel Foundation and William Jessup University hosted a Baseball Alumni Banquet honoring Dusty Baker, former Major League Baseball player and manager last Saturday night at the growing university.

Baker enjoyed a 19-year career as an outfielder with the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics.

A Sacramento native, Baker was a highly successful manager with the Giants, Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds.

All proceeds benefited the Jerry Manuel Foundation, a magnet charter school program located in Elverta, California. The program combines the principles of baseball with rigorous academic standards, both on and off the baseball field.ย

William Jessup University recently announced the start of their new intercollegiate baseball program to begin play spring 2015. Manuel will oversee the program.

During the program, former Sacramento MLB players Greg Vaughn and Derrek Lee joined Manuel and other administrators at William Jessup University as they honored Baker for his outstanding baseball achievements.
