Natural causes due to rare cardiac condition

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office’s Coroner’s Division has issued an autopsy report following the death of a 16-month-old Roseville girl.

On the morning of February 11, Roseville Police and Fire personnel responded to a home in Roseville for an infant who was not breathing.  Paramedics pronounced the infant, 16-month-old Isabella Michelle Heredia, dead at the scene.  The baby showed no obvious signs of trauma, and investigators couldn’t determine how or why she died.  An autopsy was performed the next day, but the preliminary results were inconclusive.

The autopsy report has now been completed, and the coroner has determined that her death was natural due to a rare cardiac condition, histiocytoid cardiomyopathy.

Further questions regarding the autopsy report may be directed to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office’s public information officers.
