Roseville, Calif.- This week City of Roseville Public Works staff upgraded three key intersections to improve vehicle circulation, including two that now have triple left turn lanes.
On Nov. 1, two double left turn lanes on major roadways were upgraded to triple left turns westbound Pleasant Grove Boulevard onto southbound Foothills Boulevard, and southbound Galleria Boulevard to eastbound Roseville Parkway.
The day before, improvements were made to the northbound left turns from Foothills Boulevard to westbound Baseline Road, upgrading it from a single to double turn lane.
With the addition of the triple left turn lanes at these two recently upgraded locations, and a triple left turn added in June to Pleasant Grove Boulevard and Roseville Parkway, the City of Roseville has three of these motorist-friendly intersections the first ever in Placer County.
Rob Jensen, City Public Works Director, said that this is just the beginning of adding numerous roadway improvements in the coming months that will benefit drivers.
‘The upgrades have considerably improved vehicle circulation at these intersections. They’re just the beginning of a city-wide effort that will include many more improvements in Roseville in the months and years to come,’ said Jensen. ‘This reduces the time spent idling at red lights at these locations.’
City staff were able to install the most recent upgrades by restriping existing lanes, thereby not requiring road widening. The upgrade was just one of several planned improvements throughout the city’s roadways.
