Applications open for City of Rocklin Commissions, Boards & Committees
Interested in serving on a City of Rocklin committee, board or commission?
The City of Rocklin is seeking applications from residents interested in serving four-year terms on a variety of City Committees, Boards and Commissions.
Planning Commission – 3 seats
Responsibilities of the Planning Commission range from approval of residential neighborhoods, commercial shopping centers, and industrial parks to recommending policies to the City Council regarding long range planning, zoning criteria changes, and land development related topics.
Recreation Commission – 2 seats
The Recreation Commission oversees the selection and master planning process for all city parks; conducts public workshops for the design of parks; and, promotes healthy lifestyles through the recreation programs, provided by the Community Services & Facilities Department, and the citys Step Up to Health It Starts in Parks program.
Front Street Historic Committee – 1 seat (business/lessee in the District)
Responsibilities of the Front Street Historic Committee include review of plans for the Front Street area, long-term planning for the older, historic portion of Rocklin, and proposals for future development criteria.
Board of Appeals – 3 seats (4-year term), 2 seats fill unexpired term (2-years). Requires experience/training pertaining to building construction.
The Board of Appeals hears issues involving interpretation of building and fire codes as adopted and amended by the City of Rocklin.
Redevelopment Citizens Advisory Committee – 3 seats. 1 seat (resident in the District), 1 seat (Member-at-Large), and 1 seat (business owner in the District) fill unexpired term (2-years).
The Redevelopment Citizens Advisory Committee reviews and makes recommendations for affordable housing projects and programs, public infrastructure projects including safe routes to schools, road improvements, and public parking lots prioritization and financing of programs and projects.
