The City of Rocklin steps up-to-the-plate as summertime approaches. This is the time when parents begin looking for activities to fill their childrens spare time. Many turn to City programs that consistently provide quality services and variety for all ages. Summer programs include Preschool Camps, Kids Junction Camps, Summer Xtreme for Teens, and Adult and Youth Camps and Sports. Space is limited. The City of Rocklin Community Services office is accepting registrations at the Rocklin Sunset Center, 2650 Sunset Blvd. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed for legal holidays).
The City of Rocklin, in conjunction with First 5 Placer Children & Families Commission, will offer three sessions of Preschool Camps for 3-5 year olds. Sessions last for 2 weeks and meet from 8:30 11:30 am. Session One will be held at Rock Creek and Ruhkala Elementary Schools from July 2-13 and is $157.50 for Rocklin Residents and $184.50 for Non-Rocklin Residents. Session Two and Three will both meet at 3rd Street Recreation Center and Rock Creek Elementary School and is $175 for Rocklin Residents and $205 for Non-Rocklin Residents. Each session includes daily snacks. Participants must be toilet-trained.

Kids Junction offers five summer camps:
Summer School Camp Challenge – (open to children attending RUSD Summer School)
Performance Playhouse (open to children entering 2nd-6th grade)
Traditional Summer Camp (open to children entering K-6th grade)
Play Depot (open to children entering K-2nd grade)
The Play Zone (open to children entering 3rd-6th grade
Camps will run from June 11- August 15. Summer School Camp Challenge is $26 per day or $120 per week and will meet from Weeks 1-5. All other camps are $36 per day or $170 per week. All camps vary by Kids Junction site. Registration Kids Junction Camps is ongoing until sites are full.

Summer Xtreme offers summer activities for teens. Summer Xtreme is provided through Station Xtreme, a teen program, that operates at Rocklin Middle School campuses. Spring View Middle School, 5040 Fifth St. will offer field trips from June 11-August 17. Summer Xtreme is $20 per day or $85 per week. Youth camps & sports are abundant and include activities such as baseball, basketball, Hot Shot Tots, Skyhawks Sports Camps, Swim Lessons, Volleyball, Water Polo and much more. This year the City of Rocklin will introduce Challenger British Soccer for the first time. This is one of the largest soccer programs in the country. There are sports opportunities for Adults to get involved during the summer too. Leagues for basketball, volleyball, and softball are being formed and will begin the week of June 19. The registration forms are available on the City of Rocklin website. The registration deadline is June 8.
