One witness said that the burgundy vehicle crashed into the business “at full speed” and then left.  The helpful citizen jumped into his car and followed the Lexus for a couple of miles noting that the driver almost struck 8 to 10 other vehicles as she swerved on the roadways.   The witness eventually lost observation on the vehicle as it exited east bound I-80 at Horseshoe Bar Rd., Loomis.

Witnesses to the crash supplied a partial license plate to officers who then responded to the 4000 Block of Hunter Oaks Lane in Loomis.  There they found the wrecked burgundy Lexus and arrested Alice Kai Grassia, 50 years, for driving under the influence of alcohol, hit & run, and driving on a suspended driver’s license.  She was booked at the Placer County Jail.

The damage to the store is estimated to be $20,000.  Four people were in the store at the time of the crash.
