Roseville Road is closed at Fir Avenue while the Roseville Police Department investigates a traffic collision that took two lives.

At 9:49 a.m. Sunday, December 19, Roseville Police Department and Fire Department personnel responded to the collision. Officers have determined that a Chevrolet S10 pickup was traveling southbound on Roseville Road during a heavy rainstorm, when the driver lost control of the vehicle on a curve.  The driver tried to correct, and the pickup veered into the northbound lane, hitting a northbound Dodge Nitro sports utility vehicle broadside.

The male passenger in the Chevrolet pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. The female driver of the pickup was transported by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where she was also pronounced dead.

The driver of the Dodge SUV was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. He had no passengers in his vehicle.

None of the names of the involved parties are available at this time.

Roseville Road will remain closed for several more hours while the Roseville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team examines the scene.
