The Roseville High School photography laboratory was burglarized sometime during the night of July 25. A suspect pried the door to the lab, located at 1 Tiger Way,ย  and took 39 cameras and four lenses. The total value of the stolen high school property is approximately $10,000.

Detectives learned that during the past week, someone tried to sell cameras to people on the streets in neighborhoods near the high school, and also around Royer Park.

Most of the stolen cameras were Fuji digital “point and shoot” cameras and Pentax single-lens-reflex (SLR) cameras. A few miscellaneous cameras and lenses were also taken, including Canon, Olympus and Spotmatic SLR cameras, and Pentax, Tonkina and Takumar lenses.

Anyone who recently acquired a camera in the Roseville area in this manner is asked to call the Roseville Police Investigation Unit at (916)774-5070. Police staff can check the serial number of the camera to determine if it belongs to the high school.
