Appointment effective August 26
Roseville, Calif. – Senior Deputy City Attorney Brita McNay takes the reigns Saturday as Roseville’s City Attorney after being appointed to the position by the Roseville City Council.
McNay brings extensive experience and expertise across a wide range of legal matters handled by the City Attorney’s Office, including redevelopment, housing, legal research and opinion-drafting, and many other issues.
‘Brita becomes the highest-ranking woman staff member ever appointed in our organization’s history,’ said Mayor Gina Garbolino in her Aug. 22 State of The City address. ‘I look forward to working with you, Brita.’ She is the sixth person to serve full time as City Attorney.
‘Her knowledge of the City means she has the ability to make decisions that will benefit our residents both in the short and long term, and maintain the amazing quality of life they expect. We’re very pleased to have her on board.’
“I appreciate the City Council’s confidence, and am proud to serve Roseville’s citizens,” McNay said.
She is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara (B.A., Political Science, 1982), the University of Santa Clara School of Law (J.D., 1985), and is a member of the bar associations for the State of California and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.
