Provisional replacement for retired trustee

Rocklin, Calif.- At its July meeting, the Sierra College Board of Trustees appointed Rocklin businessman Bill Halldin as the provisional replacement for retired trustee Elaine Rowen Reynoso. Halldin will represent Area 4 on Sierra’s Board, which includes the Placer County cities of Granite Bay, Loomis, Newcastle and Rocklin.

“This was a difficult decision for our board to make with 23 applications from well-qualified and engaged citizens,” commented Aaron Klein, President of the Board of Trustees.

“We are so grateful for the support and interest of our community in making Sierra College stronger,” Klein added.  “We welcome Bill Halldin to his new role as a Sierra College Trustee and look forward to the contributions he will make.”

Halldin, who is the President of the Roseville-based public relations firm, Halldin Public Relations, is no stranger to Sierra College, having served as the President of the Sierra College Foundation from 2004-2007. He currently serves on the boards of the Rocklin Educational Excellence Foundation, the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Sierra College Foundation. From 2001 to 2004, he taught part-time as an adjunct faculty member at California State University Sacramento.

The Rocklin resident graduated from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in 1984 and was awarded a Master’s in Public and Private Management from the Yale University School of Management in 1991.
