Rocklin, Calif. -The 2013 Sierra College football season kicks off with a new team, a new coach and a new event.

First-year Sierra mentor, Ben Noonan, will show off his team Saturday, Aug. 24 at the first “Meet the Wolverines” scrimmage and fan-fest at Homer “Buzz” Ostrom Stadium, located on the Rocklin Campus.

 Noonan is slated to run his team through a full-pad intersquad scrimmage beginning at 10:00am with fans getting a preview of the innovative new Sierra offense and defensive coordinator Ed Eaton’s highly regarded defense. Immediately following the two-hour scrimmage, fans will be allowed on the field to “Meet the Wolverines” and Coach Noonan and his coaching staff.

 The first 100 fans will receive a 2013 schedule/poster suitable for autographs. Parking is free at the lot off Sierra College Blvd., just to the north of the stadium. Admission is free. Sierra College’s Rocklin campus is at 5000 Rocklin Rd. in Rocklin. 

The Wolverines are members of the highly competitive Valley Conference. 2013 home games include the Faculty/Staff Appreciation Game against Feather River Sept. 14, and the Youth Football Game on Sept. 21 against College of the Siskiyous. The Homecoming Classic is Oct. 5 against Foothill College, and the Sierra Veterans Classic is Oct. 26 against Modesto Jr. College. The regular season concludes Nov. 16 with the Sophomore Appreciation/Hall of Fame Game against arch rival American River College.ย
