Placer County Sheriff’s detectives are looking for a man who attempted to rob the Raley’s pharmacy in Auburn Saturday morning.
At 9:19 a.m., a white male, described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing 210 pounds, passed a note to a pharmacy clerk requesting certain pills. The clerk retreated to a safe place and the suspect left the store without any pills.
The store was evacuated and deputies, along with officers from several other agencies, searched the store and the area without success.
The suspect, thought to be between 35 and 45 years old, was wearing a hooded black jacket, black pants, light-colored shoes, and a baseball cap with a lighter colored bill. He may be associated with a 2008-2010 gray Dodge truck, that was lifted, with a drop-hitch attached to the back and possibly with red “4×4” stickers on the tailgate.
Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to contact the Placer County Sheriff’s Office at 530-889-7800. To remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if an arrest is made, call Placer County Crime Stoppers at 800-923-8191.
