On May 24, 2015, at approx. 1642 hours, Rocklin Police Officers responded to the Royal Oaks Mobile Home Park at 4695 Pacific St. for a report of a stabbing that just occurred.
Upon Officers arrival, they located a male victim with multiple stab wounds to the neck and face. The victim was found conscious and was subsequently transported by ambulance to Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael for emergency medical treatment. The suspect fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival.
Based on information developed at scene, as well as, victim and witness statements, Joseph Thomas Spera was identified as the suspect. A Ramey warrant was issued for his immediate arrest.
On May 25, 2014, at about 0100 hours, in cooperation with Rocklin PD Detectives investigating the case, and the Placer County Sheriff’s Department, Joseph Spera was located in Auburn and gave up without incident. Joseph was placed under arrest and transported to the Placer County Jail in Auburn, where he was booked for attempted murder with $150,000 bail.
