Attempted Kidnapping in Roseville on Sierra College Blvd.

A 29–year-old woman reported that while sitting in her vehicle an unknown male entered the vehicle through the back door and grabbed her around the neck in an attempt to subdue her.  She began honking her horn as she opened her driver’s door and escaped.  The suspect took the woman’s purse before fleeing in his vehicle, a maroon Dodge Durango.

The incident was reported to have occurred on 7/22/08 at 8:35 p.m. in the retail parking lot at 8690 Sierra College Blvd.

The man was described as a Caucasian male in his early thirties with a mustache and goatee and short blonde hair in ‘buzz cut.’ He was 5’11’ to 6′ tall and approximately 220 lbs., wearing a white t-shirt.  The maroon Dodge Durango had its rear windows tinted.  The attached photograph depicts a similar style of Durango.

The Lincoln Police Department reported that a similar suspect, driving the same colored Dodge Durango, was responsible for an attempted kidnapping at the Raley’s gas station in Lincoln on 7/20/08.

Detectives from both agencies are currently investigating the crimes and urge anyone who may have seen the above-described suspect or vehicle, or who has any other information about this incident is asked to call the Roseville Police Department at (916) 774-5000.
