A Sheridan man was arrested for assaulting another man Saturday afternoon. Alexander Lee Garcia, 22, was arrested by Placer County Sheriff’s detectives on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury. The incident occurred at the 12th Street home of the suspect.
Deputies responded to the report of an assault at around 4 p.m. The victim, Duane Andrew Pace, 21, had already been transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center when deputies arrived. Pace had received a wound to his head from a screwdriver during an apparent altercation with Garcia.
Garcia was booked at the Placer County Jail and was released after posting bail.
The circumstances surrounding the assault are still under investigation and the Sheriff’s Department does not anticipate any further arrests in this case.
