On May 19, 2008, at approximately 9:00 p.m. Sacramento County Sheriff”s deputies, assigned to the Sacramento International Airport, boarded a U.S. Airways flight bound for Atlanta, Georgia and arrested Rachael Ann Wilson (29) of Sacramento for possession of marijuana for sale, and unlawful transportation of marijuana.
Before boarding her flight Wilson had checked two large cardboard boxes at the U.S. Airways ticket counter. One of the boxes was too large to pass through the TSA x-ray equipment and was opened by TSA agents. Once they opened the box, they found it packed with large two-pound cans of coffee. The TSA agents became suspicious and notified Sheriff’s deputies when they noticed irregularities in the labeling and the weight of the cans. Deputies opened the cans and discovered marijuana. The TSA agents and the deputies then retrieved the first smaller box and opened it to find it was also packed with cans filled with marijuana. In total, the TSA agents and the deputies confiscated approximately fifteen pounds of marijuana that has a street value of $125,000.00.
Wilson was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. She is scheduled to be arraigned on May 27, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. in Sacramento Municipal Court.
