(UPDATED) ROCKLIN, Calif., – William Jessup University’s Public Policy department will host their second annual flag ceremony on Thursday, November 11 from 8-8:30 a.m. at the University’s flag pole located in the front parking lot of the Rocklin campus. The event will honor all veterans for their dedicated and loyal service to our country.
The half hour ceremony features a welcome statement from Rocklin Mayor Scott Yuill. A brief overview presentation of Veterans Day will be presented by Wade Teasdale. Teasdale, a US Army Veteran brings 25 years of service representing diverse leadership positions and ranks among the most senior of the California State Legislature’s staff members. Teasdale currently serves as senior policy analyst with a portfolio that includes oversight of the state’s energy and telecommunications policy, veterans affairs, and legislatively directed audits of state agencies.
Student presenters Jeremy Glenn (Active Duty Marine, WJU student and 2010-11 Class President) and Jamie Torrington (Marine officer candidate) will process in uniform. Torrington will raise the flag while Glenn plays the saxophone. Student Jonathan Gee will play the trumpet.
Featured remarks will come from Rocky Deal (Navy veteran), Chief of Staff to honorable Tom McClintocks office. Recognition will be given to those representing student and community veterans and those in active duty.
Closing remarks will be delivered by Zack Burnett (US Air Force).
