Rocklin, Calif.- Have you danced to Mariachi music?ย  Can you make a Japanese origami crane?ย  These are just a couple of the things you can participate in at the 10th annual People & Culture Days held at Sierra College Rocklin Campus Amphitheater on Wednesday October 17 and Thursday October 18 from 10 am – 2 pm.ย  The community is welcome and encouraged to attend this free event.

Mahatma Gandhi stated “No culture can live if it attempts to be exclusive.” Come experience cultures from around the globe right here in Rocklin.  There will be music and entertainment on the festival stage, informational booths and posters, art, dancing, and an international fashion show.  International food, Moroccan arts & crafts, and Nicaraguan pottery will be available for purchase, and much more.

Performances on the festival stage will include:

   – Holdstock & MacLeod: Widely known for their renditions of authentic land and sea songs from their English and Scottish roots. Their traditional harmonies and melodic tones resonate with all who have the pleasure of hearing them.

   – The West Nile Ramblers: This Yolo County-based band combines influences from western swing, country, and rock into a style they call Western Garage…irresistibly danceable!

As Tim Haenny, Student Life Coordinator, says, “It is a wonderful celebration of the many cultures that attend Sierra College.” This event is designed to foster peace in our community and promote understanding of different cultures and global issues.

The Sierra College Rocklin Campus is located at: 5000 Rocklin Road, Rocklin CA.
