Serial Bank Robber sought

SourceFBI

Sacramento, Calif.- The FBI’s Sacramento Violent Crime Task Force (SVCTF), comprised of FBI Agents and Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Robbery Detectives, the Vacaville Police Deparment, the Rocklin Police Department, and the Davis Police Department are seeking information on an unidentified bank robber responsible for at least four bank robberies between April, 2006 and March, 2007.  The robberies have spanned Solano and Placer Counties and two of the robberies occurred at the same bank.

The individual in question is described as a white male, mid 30’s, medium to heavy build, short dark hair, approximately 5′ 8″ to 5′ 10″, dark goatee, with no visible scars, marks, or tattoos.  The robber has worn a baseball cap with various sports logos in each of the robberies.

The robber enters the bank, waits in line for a teller, approaches a teller and presents a demand note.  To date no weapons have been threatened or displayed during the course of the robberies.

The “Sports Cap Bandit” is suspected in the robbery of the Bank of the West, 1011 Helen Power Drive, Vacaville, CA on 4/12/06 and 2/26/07, the Golden 1 Credit Union, 6839 Five Star Blvd., Rocklin, CA on 3/2/07, and the Washington Mutual Bank, 2011 Harbison Drive, Vacaville, CA on 3/12/07.

FBI and police are also reviewing possible similarities between the four “Sports Cap Bandit” robberies and two March, 2007 robberies in Sacramento and Yolo Counties.  The two robberies under review include the robbery of the Big Valley Credit Union, 2180 Golden Center Lane, Gold River, CA on 3/5/07 and the robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank, 340 F Street, Davis, CA on 3/10/07.

Anyone with information regarding any of the above bank robberies is asked to contact the FBI in Sacramento at (916) 481-9110, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5115, the Vacaville Police Department at (707) 449-5200, the Rocklin Police Department at (916) 625-5400, the Davis Police Department at (530) 747-5400, or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP.  Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00 from Crime Alert.
