In December, Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows debuted 16 new, luxurious one-bedroom Cattle Track Suites, each spanning 750 square feet with two private terraces. The mid-century modern-inspired property which opened in Dec. 2016 with 201 accommodations, now features 185 guestrooms and suites situated bungalow-style – reminiscent of an artists’ colony – across 23 acres.

CIVANA will soon introduce The Spa at CIVANA, a 22,000-square-foot sustainable wellness facility designed to take guests back to the origin of SPA – Salus Per Aquam (Health through Water) – by offering a choice of hydrotherapy immersions that include a tepidarium, hot/cold walking pool, cold plunge shower and saunarium.

Agave, The Arizona Spa at Westin Kierland Resort & Spa has launched an all-new series of cannabidiol (CBD) remedies designed to enhance its massage therapies. The Scottsdale-based spa is among one of the first in Arizona to provide hemp-centric offerings to reduce inflammation and alleviate pain.

Savor yoga in the warmth of a spring sunset followed by wine under the stars at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North with its Spring Candlelight Yoga Series, offered every other Thursday in March and April.

Walk on the wild side with The Boulders Resort & Spa’s new “Sonoran Explorin'” tour for a chance to see indigenous birds and other desert wildlife like javelina, cottontails and friendly bobcats during a stay at this off-the-beaten-path resort.

Celebrate the celestial at Mountain Shadows with new, monthly astrology-themed cocktail receptions on the Camelback Overlook rooftop deck, complete with a telescope and an expert astronomer. Cheers to starry skies!

Culinary Scene

Fellow Osteria opened in Scottsdale Dec. 14, merging a stylish eatery and authentically sourced Italian osteria menu with affordable wines, beers and craft cocktails. The Italian countryside-inspired restaurant is the latest from Born & Raised Hospitality, the locally based restaurant group behind popular concepts Clever Koi and Across the Pond, and brings a menu designed in collaboration with iconic Phoenix chef, Claudio Urciuoli.

Modern Oysterbar Chophouse, showcasing the best in fresh meats and seafood, and house-made desserts, with a raw oysterbar as its focal point. The restaurant is the brainchild of the founders behind local Scottsdale favorites Zinc Bistro, Mastro’s Ocean Club, and Bourbon and Bones.

Kitchen West at The Scottsdale Resort at McCormich Ranch, A Destination Hotel will offer a monthly “Five C’s Supper Series” starting Feb. 21, incorporating the “Five C’s” of Arizona – copper, cattle, cotton, citrus and climate – in conjunction with Grand Canyon National Park’s Centennial. The five, three-course dinner events will be paired with wines from celebrated Arizona vineyards.

The Phoenician has taken its signature Afternoon Tea experience into the night with Champagne Saturdays – the first and third Saturday of the month, starting Feb. 2 – featuring the finest bubbly selections accompanied by a three-course menu of sumptuous small bites. Also new to The Phoenician this season will be The Phoenician Tavern, a casual restaurant outlet replacing Relish Burger Bistro and offering top-of-the-line “pub grub” for lunch, happy hour and dinner.

Highlighting the most important meal of the weekend, La Seรฑora at The Saguaro Scottsdale just launched a weekend brunch with specialties like house-made, Gluten-Free Churros and a colorful Desert Dawn Mimosa Flight.

Things To Do

The new luxury wing at fashion mecca, Scottsdale Fashion Square, successfully debuted during the holiday season, anchored by Neiman Marcus and Dillard’s, and exposing shoppers to exclusive-to-market retailers such as Apple, Hublot, Trina Turk, Peloton and Saint Laurent. Scottsdale Fashion Square will also soon be home to new, high-end restaurants Nobu and Toca Madera, as well as the first permanent location for Wonderspaces, the breakthrough concept that partners with artists around the world to bring artwork to new audiences.

Through- May 27: The Heard Museum presents Josef Albers in Mexico, an exhibition demonstrating the influence and connectivity between the work of Albers (German, 1888-1976) and the abstracted, geometric vocabulary of pre-Columbian art, architecture and material culture. Curated at the Guggenheim Museum, the exhibition includes rarely seen early paintings as well as works on paper, photocollages, personal letters and other ephemera.

March 8-10: Scottsdale Arts Festival will return to Scottsdale Civic Center Mall (Park) for its 49th year, bringing word-class art from more than 170 US and Canadian artists, live music and tasty eats to the heart of Old Town.

April 6: The 46th Annual Original Taste at Scottsdale Waterfront will offer tastings from Scottsdale restaurants such as Sushi Roku, Famous 48 and Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, and live entertainment to help fund critical youth programs.

April 13-14: Scottsdale Culinary Festival descends upon Scottsdale Civic Center Mall (Park) for a weekend of food from 35+ restaurants, a beer garden, chocolate and wine tastings and live music by over a dozen bands. Synth electro-pop band Berlin is the headlining artist of the event!

April 25: A Documentary Video Art Festival held at Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, will showcase experimental shorts tackling social, cultural and personal topics, produced by Arizona State University students.
