The Roseville Police Department’s weekly crime report digest for November 5, 2013.
Olympus, vehicle burglary: Overnight November 1/2, someone got into a car in the 3400 block of Apollo Circle and stole a purse and its contents. The victim’s credit cards were fraudulently used at local businesses. Placer County Sheriff’s deputies contacted someone who had the victim’s stolen credit cards, and subsequently arrested that person and another suspect in connection with this case. During the same night someone also broke the window of a van on Kristou Court and stole a purse from the front seat. The victim’s credit cards were also used to make fraudulent purchases.
Olympus, vehicle burglary: Between 12:15 and 1:30 p.m. November 4, someone broke the window of a car in the Miner’s Ravine trailhead parking lot off of Sierra College Boulevard, reached in and stole a duffle bag full of clothing.
East Roseville Parkway, vehicle burglary: Between 5:15 and 7:05 p.m. October 31, someone broke the window of a pickup in the 500 block of North Sunrise Avenue, and stole a backpack of clothing.
Johnson Ranch, vehicle burglary: Between 7 and 7:45 p.m. October 31, someone broke into a locked car in the 3900 block of Douglas Boulevard, and stole a man’s fleece jacket.
Johnson Ranch, suspected home burglar arrested: At 9 a.m. November 4, officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in a backyard on Emerson Court, who was then seen climbing the fence into another backyard. As officers arrived in the area, they saw a man standing on the roof of one of the houses. He jumped off and ran away from the officers, jumping over fences and fleeing in and out of two other homes during his flight. Multiple Roseville officers searched the area with the help of a CHP helicopter, until a Roseville officer found him in a garage in the 3300 block of Emerson Drive, and took him into custody without further incident. He’s suspected of burglarizing, or trying to burglarize, four homes in the neighborhood. The 35-year-old Rocklin man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, attempted burglary, possessing stolen property, and resisting or delaying officers.
South Cirby, theft: Overnight October 31/November 1, someone cut the gas line of a pickup in the 1600 block of Old Hart Ranch Road, and siphoned fuel from the truck.
Meadow Oaks, vandalism: Overnight November 1/2, someone broke the window of a car in the 1100 block of Meadow Oaks Drive. Nothing was taken.
Sierra Gardens, metal theft: Overnight October 29/30, someone stripped the copper wire from air conditioning units at Warren T. Eich Middle School. Repair costs are estimated at $1,000.
Lead Hill, vehicle burglaries: Between 8:15 and 8:20 p.m. October 30, someone smashed the windows of two vehicles in the 300 block of North Sunrise Avenue and stole rifles, an iPad and other valuables.
Central Roseville, south of the tracks
Theiles Manor, burglary: At about 4 p.m. November 3, someone stole a refrigerator from a vacant house in the 100 block of Third Street.
Cherry Glen, theft: Between 10:30 and 11 p.m. October 6, a wallet was stolen from an unlocked pickup at a liquor store in the 100 block of Darling Way. On October 26, while Roseville officers were investigating an unrelated incident, they conducted a probation search on a suspect’s apartment, and came across the stolen wallet. A 28-year-old Roseville man was arrested on suspicion of theft and possessing stolen property.
Hillcrest, burglary: Between 2:30 p.m. October 31 and 11:20 a.m. November 1, someone stole tools from an unoccupied house in the 500 block of Marietti Way.
Central Roseville, north of the tracks
Roseville Heights, burglary: Between 5 and 6:20 p.m. November 2, someone went into a house in the 200 block of Church Street while the residents were away, possibly through an open window, and stole a laptop computer, jewelry, cash and other small valuables.
Vineyard, vandalism: Between 6 and 9 p.m. October 23, someone broke the gate into the backyard of a home in the 300 block of Brentwood.
North Central Roseville
Highland Reserve, theft: Overnight October 31/November 1, someone rummaged through an unlocked car on Palomino Court, taking credit cards, a camera and other valuables.
Blue Oaks, drug arrests: In the early morning hours of November 5, officers conducted a probation search on a home in the 1500 block of Stroll Way. A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of keeping a
place to sell drugs, possessing drugs, and other related charges, and a 39-year-old man from Carmichael was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs, and warrants from Placer County and Sacramento
