Roseville, Calif. – Coffee is big business and Roseville is at center stage in South Placer County as the coffee giants battle it out to serve up their high-priced specialty brews.
Starbucks has thrived in this area for many years as witnessed by locations on seemingly ever other corner. That success often comes at the expense of locally run boutique coffee shops.
That opportunity isn’t lost on the larger national and regional players as Oregon based Dutch Bros. has recently been pushing further into Placer County with locations in Auburn, Rocklin and Granite Bay. The drive-thru coffee shops chain, extremely popular in the rainy Northwest will be opening a Roseville location at 1225 Baseline Road.
In addition, Dunkin Donuts anticipated return to the West Coast will arrive in Roseville on October 6, 2015 at 5010 Foothills Blvd. with a brand new 2,000 sq. foot location. Although Dunkin Donuts plans on expanding in California, it recently announced plans to shutter 100 stores.
If the competitive forays succeed, we expect to see more locations sprouting up and pressure build against the Starbucks juggernaut.
