Rocklin, Calif. – This Friday, Rocklin High School will officially showcase the largest high school scoreboard in the region.

The new, 35′ wide video scoreboard is made possible by a generous donation from Von Housen Automotive Group’s Mercedes-Benz of Rocklin. It features an LED video display capable of slow motion playbacks and live game feeds. More importantly, the video feature allows Rocklin High School to present advertising opportunities to community businesses, generating significant revenue for Rocklin’s sports and technology programs.

“This would not have been possible without the collaboration of Von Housen Automotive Group’s Mercedes-Benz of Rocklin, the Rocklin Unified School District and the Rocklin High School athletic program,” said Rocklin High School principal, David Bills. “We are so grateful for the financial contribution made by Von Housen Automotive Group’s Mercedes-Benz of Rocklin and we are humbled by their commitment to assist us in continuing to provide exceptional educational programs for all students.”

The new video scoreboard replaces the aging scoreboard that had been in place since the Rocklin High School opened twenty years ago. The goal is to integrate the students into to running the entire scoreboard operation, from operating the physical scoreboard to identifying potential advertisers.ย

All are invited to the 2013 Rocklin High School football season home opener as the Rocklin Thunder take on the Pleasant Grove Eagles on Friday, August 30. The junior varsity game will begin at 5:00PM; the varsity game begins at 7:15PM.
