On 12/24/2007, approximately 5:45 P.M., Folsom Police Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call reporting a robbery had just occurred at The Big and Tall XL Outlet within the Folsom Premium Outlets located in the 13000 block of Folsom Blvd. Upon arrival, officers located a 19 year old female victim who had been bound within the store.
The victim told officers that she was working in the clothing store approximately 5:30 P.M., when two males entered the store and engaged in conversation with her about a purchase. Without warning, one of the suspects grabbed the victim by the hair and displayed an older blue-steel handgun. The suspect then fired a single round in the direction of the store’s ceiling. The victim was forcibly secured with material found within the store. The suspects removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the store’s register and fled the area.
The victim was able to free herself enough to text-message friends who alerted Folsom Premium Outlet security. The victim suffered abrasions on both wrists from the binding material but was otherwise physically uninjured. She was treated at the scene by Folsom Fire Department Paramedics.
Folsom Police Department Crime Scene Investigation personnel are actively processing the scene for physical evidence.
Both suspects were described as African-American males. The suspect who fired the handgun was described as in his thirties, 6’3′-6’4′ and very obese. The second suspect was said to be approximately 6’1′ with a thin build. He was in his twenties with curly, shoulder-length hair.
