LOOMIS – The Placer County Republican Party will hold its endorsement convention on Aug. 23 to select which candidates to support for local offices in Placer County.
The convention delegates will be appointed by members of the 42-member Placer County Central Committee. Each Central Committee member will be a delegate and can appoint up to 10 delegates each to participate in the convention.
“This is a great opportunity for Republicans throughout Placer County to have input on the candidates we support in local elections,” said Dennis Revell, Chair of the Placer County Republican Central Committee. “It is critical to have strong, conservatives leading the local government agencies that greatly impact the everyday lives of Placer County residents.”
The convention will only consider candidate endorsements in local city council, school board and all special districts. The convention may also consider any local ballot measures as well.
The convention will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23 at Del Oro High School, 3301 Taylor Road in Loomis. Registration starts at 9 a.m.
To become a delegate, please visit www.placergop.org. Each delegate must be: a Republican; appointed by a current member or ex officio member of the Central Committee; and pay a $25 convention delegate registration fee.
Republicans who do not know members of the Central Committee may contact the party directly for an appointment as a delegate and, if possible, will be connected with Central Committee members who have available delegate positions for appointment.
