The Placer Community Foundation has announced the Placer County launch of Giving Edge to local nonprofits.
An integral tool of Give Local Now’s regional effort to increase local giving, the Giving Edge is a powerful database containing profiles with comprehensive information on the people, programs, financials and needs of local nonprofits. The Placer Community Foundation has partnered with the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, Yolo Community Foundation, Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission and the Nonprofit Resource Center to administer and assist Placer County nonprofits in creating their profiles and aid in promoting its awareness.
The mission of Giving Edge is to revolutionize charitable giving and nonprofit practice by providing comprehensive information about local charities advancing transparency, accountability and best practices for nonprofits, enabling donors to make informed decisions, and encouraging charitable giving.
It is the goal of the Placer Community Foundation that all Placer nonprofit organizations eligible to receive funding through the Foundation and eligible to create a profile, become a part of Giving Edge.

Are you Eligible for a Giving Edge Profile?
In order to create a Giving Edge profile, your organization will need the following documents:
* IRS 501(c)3 determination letter
* 990 or 990EZ and audited financial statements for the past three fiscal years.
(If you are not required to file either form, please provide year-end treasurer’s reports for profit and loss statements for the last three fiscal years.)
