Newcastle, CA – Jacqueline “Jackie” DeMartini, of Newcastle, California is serving a two-year term as Sierra Nevada Region Governor of Soroptimist, an international volunteer organization for women who work to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.


As region governor, Jackie will serve as the top administrative officer for Soroptimist clubs in her geographical territory, which covers most of Northern California and all of Nevada. Together, Jackie and her clubs will work to affect social change and to increase the collective impact they have on local women and girls.


Jackie is a member of Soroptimist International of Loomis Basin, one of 3,100 Soroptimist clubs that improve the lives of women and girls through volunteer projects in the community. A member since 1998, Jackie has held several leadership positions including: region governor-elect, region treasurer, region finance committee member, club president and club president-elect.  Jackie is also a current member of a Soroptimist Federation Task Force on “Healthy Regions”.


Jackie was born and raised in Auburn CA, married Rex DeMartini and they have one son, Ryan.  She received her undergraduate degree in liberal arts from Sierra College, located in Rocklin, California.   Jackie owns her own business, J C Bookkeeping Services in Loomis CA and is currently an enrolled agent with the Internal Revenue Service.  Jackie is also a member of the Newcastle Hall Assn., Loomis Basin Chamber of Commerce, Newcastle Area Business Assn, Newcastle Community Assn and the South Placer Heritage Foundation.



Headquartered in Philadelphia, Soroptimist is an international women’s organization that works to improve the social and economic lives of underserved women and girls. Its major program, the Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women, provides cash grants for women seeking to improve their lives with the help of additional education and training.
