NASCAR returns to Roseville

Roseville, Calif.- For the second year, Roseville’s All American Speedway will host the final race of the NASCAR Camping World Series West, determining the 2009 series champion. The NASCAR Camping World Series is NASCAR’s premiere driver development series with notables such as Kevin Harvick, Brendan Gaughan, Clint Bowyer, and Martin Truex getting their start in racing in the NASCAR CWS West before moving into the Sprint Cup cars.

The Toyota Copart 150 will be the feature event of an action-packed race day on September 26. Fans will also be treated to the Riebes Auto Parts USAC 100 featuring the Western Sprint Cars division, USAC Midgets and local television/radio celebrities will take the track for the A-All Mini Storage Media Blitz 100.

This is NCWS’ second visit in the 2009 season to All American Speedway. Eric Holmes, #20 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota, finished in first place on April 4, and is eager to return to claim his third track victory in two years. Holmes, who drives for Bill McAnally Racing is the 2006 and 2008 West Series Champion. Other top drivers expected to return to the one-third mile oval are Southern California drivers Jason Bowles, Greg Pursley, Duke University student driver Paulie Harraka, Florida’s Blake Koch and from Arizona Moses Smith.

All American Speedway fans have packed the stands to see USAC Western Sprint Car Series open wheel, high speed racing this year. Looking forward to the 100 lap feature race is local favorite, Tony Hunt – currently in fourth position. Hunt will be back to add points in his quest for his fourth USAC Western Sprint championship. The Lincoln resident took home the win at AAS in June. Tanner Swanson, the 2008 Champion, was the winner at the most recent August 1st race. Other notable USAC drivers expected to compete are Shauna Hogg, and Davy Hamilton who ran in the Indy 500 this year.

Local media celebs are excited as they get ready for a 20-lap race. Bill McAnally Racing is providing late model cars for the event.  The media celebrities will be put through a thorough safety course and coached during practice sessions on the track. Fans are invited to the track testing and practice on September 18 from 3 pm to 6pm, featuring an autograph session and Fuddruckers hamburgers and NOS Energy Drink for the first 150 spectators. Celebrity driver names are expected to be announced September 10.

USAC and Media late model track practice and qualifying is on Friday, September 25 and pit passes will be available; the grandstands will be closed. Race day is September 26 with advance purchase recommended. Gates open at 3:00 to the midway, which is free to the public. Grandstands open to ticket holders at 3:00 pm.
