Auburn, Calif.- The Forest Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating Californians about forests, today announced that it has received a $50,000 grant from the Morgan Family Foundation to help fund “Talk about Trees,” a program that provides interactive lessons that teach elementary school children about forest ecology and conserving forest resources.
‘Talk About Trees’ is free to teachers and serves thousands of California elementary school children each year. Students learn the role of forestry professionals in protecting healthy wildlife habitat, renewable resources, water quality, fuel reduction, recreation and carbon sequestration. Facilitators deliver hands-on presentations that have been described as ‘a virtual forest fieldtrip in the classroom.’
