Lisa Morana, Rocklin named Recruitment Director for Drexel University

SACRAMENTO – Drexel University has announced the appointment of Lisa Morana of Rocklin as its Director of Recruitment for Northern California. Morana’s initial focus will be on undergraduate and graduate student recruitment for the university’s main campus in Philadelphia.

Morana brings her 17 years of experience in marketing and outreach to Drexel. She previously worked for nine years as the Director of the Sacramento Regional Campus for the University of San Francisco.

‘Drexel is such a dynamic university,’ Morana said. ‘I am really excited to have an opportunity to increase Drexel’s visibility in the greater Sacramento region. Drexel has a wonderful campus setting in Philadelphia and it’s exciting that Drexel is considering offering programs right here in the Sacramento area.’

While at the USF, Morana also served as an Adjunct Writing Instructor and was a member of the University’s Technology Committee.

A Rocklin resident, Morana is very active in her community. She is a founding member of the Sacramento Region Higher Education Coalition, and has served as the Newsletter Editor and Family Relations chair for Sacramento Habitat for Humanity.

‘We are really pleased to have someone with Lisa’s experience and extensive knowledge of the region join our team,’ said Joan McDonald, Drexel Vice President for Enrollment Management. ‘She will be a tremendous asset to us as we continue trying to promote all the wonderful things about Drexel to students throughout Northern California.’

Drexel University recently established a $1 million scholarship fund for students from Placer County and the Sacramento region who are interested in attending Drexel’s campus in Philadelphia. This $10,000-a-year scholarship is renewable, provided students maintain a 3.0 grade-point-average and full-time enrollment.

Founded in 1891 in Philadelphia, Drexel is ranked by US News and World Report as one of the best national universities in ‘America’s Best Colleges.’ Drexel is widely recognized for its focus on co-operative education and technology. Drexel is the 16th largest private university in the nation and became the first major university to operate a fully wireless campus in the year 2000.
