KidsFirst and The Rite Aid Foundation Partner

Roseville, Calif.- KidsFirst is the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Placer County, operating three Counseling and Family Resource Centers in Roseville, Auburn and Citrus Heights; celebrating twenty-five years as the Child Abuse Prevention Council in Placer County.

KidsFirst’s mission is to stop child abuse and neglect. KidsFirst promotes community health and well-being through prevention, early intervention, education and treatment. Last year, KidsFirst directly served nearly 3,700 children and 2,900 adults through our programs and services. KidsFirst reached an additional 8,500 individuals by participating in over 270 community outreach events.

Now, with the help of The Rite Aid Foundations’ KidCents program, KidsFirst has the opportunity to make an even greater impact on the community’s children and families. The KidCents program was introduced by The Rite Aid Foundation just last year. In August of 2014, KidsFirst was accepted to participate in the KidCents program. This makes KidsFirst among the first organizations of the inaugural class of charities to be exclusively available as a “round-up” choice to Rite Aid wellness+ customers.

As a member of the KidCents inaugural class, The Rite Aid Foundation is awarding KidsFirst with a special $10,000 grant to further support child abuse prevention. The Rite Aid Foundation’s core focus is the health and well-being of children in our communities, and through their charitable giving they serve to provide support to deserving children in need to make a meaningful difference in their lives for years to come.

Through the KidCents program, customers of Rite Aid are given the option to round their purchases up to the nearest dollar and donate their change to KidsFirst. In addition, supporters can sign up at KidCents.com to become wellness+ members to automatically “round up” all of their purchases and donate the change to KidsFirst every time they shop at Rite Aid.
