Central California’s charming seaside village
CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, Calif. – The one-square-mile village of Carmel-by-the-Sea, located at the southern bend of the Monterey Peninsula, is the perfect spring destination to experience coastal vibes. The walkable village encompasses hidden courtyards, secret passageways, and curlicue-roofed shops inviting visitors to explore its distinct charms. Staged by Carmel’s 21 artist-owned galleries, the Carmel Art Walk is held the second Saturday of every month. Over a three-hour period, artists can be found in their galleries, showing their works and answering questions, while many are giving free demonstrations. The next two Art Walks are scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. on May 11.
Visitors can laugh out loud on April 26 at the FRIENDS! The Musical Parody, a musical that celebrates your favorite group from TV’s Friends.
One of the most scenic marathons in the world, The Big Sur International Marathon will be held on April 28. Runners are given the rare opportunity to complete 26.2 miles along California’s stunning coastline.
May 2-4, Carmel-by-the-Sea welcomes the EG Conference-An Extraordinary Gathering, a community of world-class thinkers, creative talents and innovators to explore what drives our creative thinking. Attendees will experience incredible presentations to get their creative juices flowing.
Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association hosts the 27th Winemakers Celebration on May 4. During the one-day event, attendees can sample over 100 Monterey County wines in picturesque Carmel-by-the-Sea.
A local’s favorite, the 26th Annual Carmel Art Festival takes over Devendorf Park in Carmel-by-the-Sea where painting and live sculpture exhibits are on display from May 17-19.
