Auburn, Calif. – The Placer County Board of Supervisors have proclaimed August 2016 as Child Support Awareness Month, highlighting the services available to parents to ensure their children have the financial and medical resources they need.
The Placer County Department of Child Support Services promotes the wellbeing of children and the self-sufficiency of families by assisting both parents to meet the financial, medical and emotional needs of their children.
The Placer County Department of Child Support Services last year collected over $23 million in favor of families, winning its second consecutive Director’s Excellence Award. This State of California Department of Child Support Services award for increased collections and distributions to families is a representation of the department’s commitment to make child support a sustainable income for families.
“I am so pleased with the progress that we have made toward working with mothers, fathers and caretakers in a non-judgemental, unbiased, and professional way in order to improve the lives of children,” said Troy Held, Placer County director of child support services.
