Amy Bartlett: WJU’s New Marketing Director

William Jessup University, the Sacramento region’s only residential four-year private university, recently announced the hiring of Amy Bartlett as its new Director of Marketing.

Bartlett has an extensive background in marketing from a Christian perspective and is well versed in the Sacramento area. She grew up in Sacramento and graduated from Center High School in Antelope.

William Jessup is the first and only Western Association of Schools and Colleges’ (WASC) accredited, Christian University to have its main campus located in the greater Sacramento region.

Bartlett is excited about the challenges and opportunities ahead for the growing University. William Jessup expects to increase its enrollment to 1,500 traditional undergraduate students by 2020, up from 1,200 this year.

To help meet the need of housing more students on campus, WJU is currently adding a three-story, 40,000-square-foot building that is being constructed near the new University Avenue entrance to the campus. The $10.5 million, 210-bed building is expected to be completed early 2016.

“The University and its marketing department are both in a big development period, so this is a very exciting time to join the team at William Jessup,” Bartlett said. “Although Jessup has been in Rocklin for 10 years and is established, it’s entering a new development stage and I feel very fortunate to be here at a time when I can help promote the University’s next growth spurt and its focus on Christ-centered higher education for students.”

In her new position, Bartlett will take a leading role in WJU’s marketing strategy, allocation of university marketing resources, guidance over marketing-related creativity, and oversee the marketing team and independent consultants/partners.

“Amy Bartlett is terrific new addition to the William Jessup team. She has tremendous insight into marketing, has a thorough understanding of how to brand a Christian university, and knows the Sacramento region very well,” said Dr. John Jackson, President of William Jessup University. “In her brief time on our staff Amy has quickly become someone we rely on heavily for guidance as we move into this exciting new era in the University’s history.”

Bartlett comes to WJU following a seven-year stint in San Diego with New Venture Christian Fellowship, where she was Director of Arts & Marketing/ Advisory Management. Her career also includes six years with Rhapsody/RealNetworks, where she served as a marketer, editor, and content manager for the Christian/Gospel Music Department.

She previously established Amy Bartlett Ministries and was an editor at Guideposts Books & Inspirational Media in New York City. Living in New York City during the 9-11 terrorist attack in 2001, Bartlett later wrote a book about the experience – “Be Still, America … I Am God.”

Bartlett lives in Rocklin and attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater.

Her father, Chuck Bartlett, owns Bartlett Flowers & Gifts in Downtown Roseville. Her mother, Diane, was a longtime radio producer for Eric Hogue, the KTKZ-AM’s first Program Director and morning talk show host. Hogue is now the Chief Development Officer at WJU.
